Federal Contractors: Mandatory Privacy Training Rule for Employees Coming Soon

Posted in Privacy Regulation

Written by Jonathan Cain, CIPP/G

It’s been a while coming, but a mandatory privacy training rule for federal contractors could make it in the Federal Register by the end of the year. In the works since 2011, the rule was sent to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on November 5, and final procurement rules typically make their way to the Federal Register within four to six weeks. The privacy rule applies to civilian and defense agency contractors that handle personally identifiable information. For more information, please read our recently published Government Contracts alert.
