A founding member of the firm’s e-discovery practice, John focuses exclusively on counseling clients on e-discovery and large data matters, including commercial litigation, investigations, and governmental inquiries. He leverages extensive experience both in practice and discovery project management to help clients develop and implement processes for preserving, collecting, and processing electronic data; prepare defensible discovery plans addressing production of electronically stored information; implement best-in-class early case assessment tools; adopt technology-assisted review approaches; and utilize innovative workforce arrangements.

Susan is a Member in the Corporate & Securities Section, practicing in the firm’s London office. She works with clients primarily on data protection, licensing, collaborations, and commercial matters in the fields of clean tech, high tech, mobile media, and life sciences. She has represented a broad range of clients from start-up companies to international industry leaders and has significant experience with cross-border transactions. She is qualified in England and Wales as well as California, and has experience practicing law in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

Christopher Harvie is a Member in the Washington, DC office. Chris focuses chiefly on legal, policy, and legislative issues affecting cable and telecommunications companies. He has represented clients in proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission, Congress, federal and state courts, and state and local regulatory bodies. Chris assists clients on a broad range of cable television legal and policy matters, including cable franchising and regulation, privacy, programming agreements, content licensing and copyright, rate regulation, set-top box issues, inside wiring, and broadband network policy.

 

Brian Lam

Brian is an Associate in the firm’s San Diego office. His practice focuses on corporate law matters. He has extensive experience in patent litigation and intellectual property matters, as well as privacy and data protection matters, particularly as to data aggregation, network security, and technology transactions. He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (US Specialization), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), endorsement pending.

Kate’s practice involves a variety of regulatory and transactional matters for healthcare providers, including hospitals, physician groups, clinical laboratories, retail health clinics, and pharmacies. Kate counsels health care clients on HIPAA compliance, telemedicine practice, licensure and scope of practice issues, clinical trial compliance, physician contracting and the federal Physician Payments Sunshine Act.
